AURA

A production-ready Hyprland desktop rice driven by one command and one theme.json — 23 themes, 55 Waybar styles.

What it is

AURA (Hyperland) is not a dotfiles dump — it is a theming engine for a full Arch + Hyprland desktop, built around core/scripts/aura.sh. The pitch is simple:

One command. One theme.json. The entire desktop re-themed — Hyprland, Waybar, Rofi, Kitty, SwayNC, Hyprlock, Fastfetch — instantly.

Every runtime config (Waybar colors, Rofi theme variables, Kitty colors, Hyprland palette, SwayNC CSS, Hyprlock colors, Fastfetch JSON) is generated from a single source of truth, so themes never drift out of sync.

What’s inside

Aura Engine (core/scripts/aura.sh) — the canonical generator. It reads a theme directory, expands templates from core/templates/aura/, and writes final configs to the user’s runtime config paths (~/.config/waybar/hyperland-theme.css, ~/.config/rofi/hyperland-colors.rasi, ~/.config/kitty/theme-colors.conf, ~/.config/hypr/aura-colors.conf, ~/.config/swaync/aura-colors.css, ~/.config/hyprlock/aura-colors.conf, ~/.config/fastfetch/aura-colors.jsonc). It supports --generate <theme> and --generate-dynamic <image> (extracts a palette via wallust and re-skins the desktop from a photo).

Theme catalog — 23 hand-crafted themes in themes/: catppuccin, neon-noir, nord, tokyonight, cyberpunk, gruvbox, dracula, synthwave-pro, arctic-night, midnight-ocean, obsidian, blood-moon, emberfall, rose-pine-dusk, solar-eclipse, forest-matrix, glassmorphism-dark, ash-and-gold, violet-storm, desert-sand, graphite, … and the signature neganinshell (blood-red + bone-ash). A theme-contract.json documents the schema every theme must satisfy.

Profiles (profiles/) — role-based config presets: full.json, minimal.json, development.json, gaming.json, media.json, productivity.json, aesthetic.json, custom.example.json.

Script collection — 100+ small utilities in core/scripts/: animations & animation switcher, airplane mode, brightness (keyboard/monitor), calculator, clipboard manager, dark/light toggle, drop-terminal, emoji picker, game mode, Jalali calendar widget, hyprlock actions, keyboard layout, keybind cheatsheet & layout init, launchers, lock screen, login manager, media controls, monitor profiles, quick settings, rofi theme converter, blur changer, etc.

Plugin example (plugins/example-plugin) — a documented hook structure for extending the setup.

Getting started

./install.sh # interactive, robust installer
# or one-line install from the README

# apply a theme
bash core/scripts/aura.sh --generate catppuccin

# generate a theme from a wallpaper image
bash core/scripts/aura.sh --generate-dynamic ~/Pictures/wall.jpg

Why it stands out

Anyone can collect dotfiles; far fewer build a system around them. AURA’s real engineering is the contract between theme.json and seven independent config formats — one generator, deterministic output, and a plugin/profile architecture on top. It also shows deep Linux desktop fluency: Wayland compositors, Rofi scripting, dynamic color extraction and bilingual (EN/FA) desktop ergonomics.
